Troubleshooting

Find what you are seeing below. Each page starts with the quickest fix and then explains why it happens.

Musa CAD will not startIt closes with a message about OpenGL 4.5, or nothing happens at all.

The drawing area is black, blank or slowThe window opens, but drawing feels sluggish or shows nothing.

DWG files do nothing or failNo DWG converter found, the converter times out, or parts of the drawing are missing.

A plot or PDF looks wrongThe page is empty, lines are all the same thickness, colours or dashes are off, or it is the wrong size.

Text looks different from the originalFonts from AutoCAD drawings, missing characters, and text that has lost its formatting.

A file will not openUnsupported file format version, expected MUSACAD header, or missing references and images.

Before anything else

1. Check your version. Choose About Musa CAD… from the application menu (the Musa CAD logo at the top left), or run musacad --version. Many problems are already fixed in the latest release.
2. Update. Musa CAD checks for a new version once a day and shows it in the status bar. You can also choose Check for Updates… from the application menu. Flathub installs update with your other apps.
3. Read the message. Musa CAD says what went wrong instead of failing silently. The message usually names the cause, and these pages quote the messages so you can search for them.
